Can law help Women to survive?

As I was walking down from the dais after delivering this lecture, a gentleman from the audience stepped up to me with the question: The title of your lecture is a query. Please tell me what your answer is. Is it ‘yes’ or ‘no’? He had me flummoxed for the moment. But later when I came to think of it, I thought that my answer would be neither ‘yes’ or ‘no’, which is why I had to write about it. If I were to answer in one word positively or negatively, then that would be the end of the problem. In either case, there would be nothing more to be done.
