Gandhi and Marx

I live outside Kerala and I maintain my connection with the home state through a couple of trips every year. While in Kerala, the most pleasant expe- rience I used to look forward to was to meet Ravindran. For the last one year, we have all been denied the pleasure of his company. A shadow of melanc- holy is cast over us, which is, to a great extent, lifted by two deep and incisive expositions of ideas by Professor Akeel Bilgrami on Gandhi and Professor Prabhat Patnaik on Marx, in this function we have organised to commemo- rate Ravi’s memory on his first death anniversary.
