Educational and Curricular Restructuring: Neo-Conservative Agendas in Gujarat

Amused by the propensity of Indians to indulge in pseudoscience and their collective mentality to blindly accept the Vedas as a source of not only spiritual but also physical knowledge, globally eminent Indian scientist Professor Meghnad Saha used to remark in banter, that ‘It’s all in the Vedas’ (Saha, 2001). However, from scientists who wax eloquent on the superiority of ancient Indian civilizations and offer prayers at temples before scientific endeavours (The Mint, 2019) to medical professionals who push unproven remedies at hospitals to elected representatives of the state coming up with remedies like drinking of cow urine, bathing in cow dung, eating papad to treat COVID-19 (Deccan Herald, 2021) to the ex-health minister not heeding the advice of scientists and pushing an unproven drug despite being a medical doctor (Rao, 2021), it would appear that the state and other authorities are actively promoting pseudoscience.
