Doing Theatre Today: Creative Responses to Social Challenges

Words fail me in expressing my deep sense of honour, solidarity, awe and excitement for this opportunity to deliver the 31st Safdar Hashmi Memorial Lecture. Hashmi re-invented himself in the short span of his life in the most creative ways possible. He remains an inspiration and hope for all of us trying to keep democratic processes alive, building art from the ground and daring to collaborate with different forms, artists and genres.
