The decline and Rise of a Godly Trader
One minor sideshow to the live Modi starrer on Sunday, 21 June 2015, in the capital was the presence of a gesticulating Ramdev on the main stage. He was playing second fiddle to the star attraction, but he had a place on the podium and a slice of the action, miming the instructions issued from loudspeakers. One would catch an occasional glimpse of his colourful presence when the cameras turned his way, which was not very often, but there he was, reinstated in some fashion in the centre of things, though the star billing evaded him on this occasion. The Prime Minister of India, resplendent in crisp kurta-pajama which he changed once in the forty-five minute show, hogged the limelight, of course, because he was the top dog, and he had conceived the event and earned international recognition for what would from now on be known as World Yoga Day.
