Georg Lukács, Hindi Critical Thought and View of Form in The Theory of the Novel
Georg Lukács places the issue of form at the centre of his early book The Theory of the Novel, and views form as integral to the humanist approach. In this context, he suggests categories such as nature, human consciousness and history for serious consideration. At the same time, for him an adequate theorisation of form requires a strong reference to socio-philosophical dimensions of transcendence, substance and essence. According to him, these relate to concreteness of human experience outside the scope of felt reality somewhat differently though vitally.
