Majoritarianism and the Future of India’s Democracy

Indian History Congress is the country’s premier body of historians which has nurtured generations of scholars, and remains the most important platform for exchange of ideas and for the presentation of rich historical research to a larger audience. It has over the past decades affirmed its commitment to a scientific and secular reading of the past and present and has taken unequivocally progressive positions on major social and political issues of our time, especially against the communalisation of history.
