We had meant to bring out this special number on Kashmir earlier, but Covid-19 and the ensuing lockdown delayed its appearance to coincide with the first anniversary of the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A of the Indian Constitution, and the bifurcation of the state of Jammu & Kashmir into two Union Territories. History will record that measure as  the most unwise and immoral act carried out by any central government in post-independence India: it is unwise because of its immorality, not only vis-à-vis the people of Kashmir, but also vis-à-vis the people of the entire country.
