The book under review is the finale of a lifetime of Biswamoy Pati’s extraordinary publishing output which totalled more than twenty volumes, consisting of monographs and edited volumes. Published posthumously, this book appears to be the crux of Pati’s long-time engagement with the colonial and post-colonial lives of the tribals and dalits/outcastes in Orissa (present-day Odisha).
