OBITUARY : Praful Bidwai

Praful Bidwai, outstanding political analyst, brilliant journalist, erudite social science researcher and public-spirited activist, died on 23 June 2015 in Amsterdam where he was attending the annual Transnational Institute (TNI) meeting. He was a long-time Fellow of TNI. Bidwai had served as a member of the Indian Council for Social Science Research, the Central Advisory Board of Education and the National Book Trust. He held the Durgabai Deshmukh Chair at the Council for Social Development and was earlier also a Senior Fellow of the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library.
