OBITUARY – Randhir Singh (1922–2016) : The Teacher Who Shaped Posterity and the Study of Politics

Randhir Singh passed away on 31 January 2016. He was a communist revolutionary who shaped posterity by way of shaking the discipline of politics. A slew of critical thinkers, comrades, owe a lot to him for their transformation and critical disposition through his teaching. As Manoranjan Mohanty puts it succinctly, ‘Randhir Singh proved that teaching can be also a revolutionary activity.’ ‘Randhir Singh said this on it’ and ‘I am his student’ acquired an iconic status in the discursive spaces of Delhi.
