Editorial Note, Jul-Jun, 2017

The last few weeks have been quite tragic for our journal. We lost our book review editor Biswamoy Pati, a brilliant historian at Delhi University, a popular teacher, and a person of boundless energy who brought young historians together to form a strong collective group in Delhi. Getting regular book reviews is very difficult for a journal, but Pati’s rapport with young historians had enabled this journal to overcome that hurdle. He also edited a number of special issues of the journal with contributions from young scholars. His is an immense loss for us, one very difficult to fill.
