Submission has been held to be an appropriate virtue of women. It was supposed that a woman submits to fate while man makes it. The subject of this book justifies this appropriately. Niyoga defined the destiny of a woman’s life in case of the death/absence/impotency of her husband. As per this measure, she was supposed to co-habit temporarily with her brotherin-law/ designated man in order to produce a son, who would be regarded as the progeny of her husband.
